Ovulation Calculator
Calculate your most fertile days and estimated ovulation date based on your menstrual cycle.
Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle
The menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. The average cycle length is 28 days, but it can range from 21 to 35 days.
How Ovulation Works
Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before your next period starts. During ovulation, an egg is released from one of your ovaries and travels down the fallopian tube where it can be fertilized by sperm.
Your Fertile Window
The "fertile window" is the 6-day period ending on the day of ovulation. These are the days when you're most likely to get pregnant if you have unprotected sex. Sperm can live in the female reproductive tract for up to 5 days, while an egg lives for only about 24 hours after ovulation.
Tracking Your Cycle
Tracking your menstrual cycle can help you:
- Predict when you'll ovulate
- Plan or avoid pregnancy
- Prepare for your period
- Monitor your reproductive health
Important Notes
This calculator provides estimates based on average cycle patterns. Your actual ovulation day may vary. For more accurate tracking, consider using additional methods like basal body temperature tracking, ovulation predictor kits, or fertility monitoring apps.
